Public Play

Last weekend, a large crew from Boston went down to the first Saturday Suspension party in NYC.

Dunter and O, from Montreal, and myself, from Boston, arrived in town on Friday quickly meeting up with Dov.

Since we were going to two parties Saturday and Sunday, we decided to play tourists Friday night. O wanted to see the Bull down near Wall Street, so off we went.

As we walked, I think it was I that said . . . we should suspend O from the Bull. Dov quickly piped up . . . I have the rope!! (that is due to a different story and lesson learned)

We walked faster.  It is now about 10:30pm.

When we got there . . . WTF it was all very well lit, Disney was filming part of a movie there, just not the Bull. We talked to a crew guy and asked if we were okay around the Bull and he was fine.   But the cops . . . there was a van full of NYC cops sitting there.

Dunter walks up to them and asks in his French accent if it was okay if we went on the Bull and put rope on it?

Sure go ahead . . .  blink blink COOL..  Off we went.

Dov handed his rope bag to Dunter, I lent a hand and live twittered the adventure while Dov broke out his camera.

We played a bit with O in bondage by the head, then I looked and saw how tail pokes out side . . .

SUSPENSION TIME!!

We started drawing a bit of crowd and gave many people driving by whip lash.  After that was done, we set up a point off the tail of the Bull and suspended her in a more dynamic style, letting her move and pose while suspended.

Near the end, a couple of stunt men asked what it was, told them a bit and they were very impressed.

Here are two quick Iphone pics from the night . . .  Dov I am guessing will eventually have some higher quality to share.

WATER BOARD: a play about torture July 23 Cambridge MA

This world premiere of the original play Water Board: a play about torture aims to create awareness and discussion about waterboarding as a form of torture.  Through live action performance, integrated video, original music and dialogue with the audience, this breathtaking show explores the contemporary politics and history of simulated drowning.  The play engages audience members in a conversation that struggles with what it means to live under a government that practices and condones torture.  The two performers will waterboard each other during the course of the show.  Exploring the eerily whimsical linguistic connotations of the recently coined term “waterboarding”, performers play on slip ‘n’ slides and toss beach balls while singing about “enhanced interrogation techniques.”

NOTE: No one under 13 years old will be admitted.

Goat, De-goat

I have had success removing the barnyard smell “de-goating” as I call it..

Get a tub of hot water and soak the rope over night, pour out the dark tea colored water.. repeat 2 times. Then I did one bath with about 2 gallons of white vinegar, more soaking in hot water 2? times

Hung out to dry under tension… no “goat” smell

I had to giggle and shake my head a reply by RopeRider to my post on Fetlife.com

I tried soaking my goat in water overnight, gave him a bath in white vinegar, rinsed him in hot water, and then hung him to dry under tension. Now he smells like rope, and I have a concussion and three broken ribs. Not really worth it.

QOTD from "An unassuming girl"

Experiencing the terror and thrill of being surrounded by four sadistic riggers (unbelievably, none of whom had rope with them), and then the aftermath of trying to get sand out of places sand should never have access to.

Amazing weekend and OH CRAP

Dunter and a friend came down from Montreal for the Bound in Boston Mini con on the weekend.

We started out Friday night with a quick trip into Boston, then up to Hampton Beach with Dov,Nell, TrialSinner , Mephki and Baldr.

Was a great starter night, walk on boardwalk there, games, Frisbee in the dark,  Sitting watching waves and a light hearted take down of Nell in the sand, I am guessing she is still finding bits of it in places.

Saturday was a blast! After nice breakfast and a quick walk in Mt Auburn cemetery, we went to to the Bound in Boston event.

I helped Unsuregurl’s husband with a few basic ties and a new karada style harness I learned from TrialSinner.

Later on in evening after dinner, I ran an event at the con. “THE GREAT ESCAPE”.  Went so well..  so much fun.  So many participated. As I worked the timer and watched people speed tying and wiggling out.  The laughter and comments from everyone was amazing.  After talking after event, I now have a few more games that I would do when I run this kinda of class in future!

Late Saturday night, we went off to a private party. Dunter quickly found a suspension point and put his guest up in a most amazing way.  It allowed her to move and play with the suspension. I then spent rest of evening curled up with a very cute girl I put in some rope.. that was unexpected and very very nice.

Sunday was mellow..  Dunter and his guest and I, went out for nice lunch, picked up some rain gear for their ride back.  After packing I gave them a hand getting on track to home a nicer way than they came down.  Around 5-6 I got a call that they had made it home safe.

Now the OH CRAP…

About 2 years ago I suffered some bad nerve damage in my right arm after the needle used for giving blood hit a nerve.

Well my own try in “THE GREAT ESCAPE” combined with other rope play, as caused it to act up.  and having problems with the last 3 fingers on my right arm.. and some of my fore arm. It’s not really any ones fault for it, but this kinda sucks..  I am setting up apt with Doc asap to have him look at it.
